Does Acupuncture work?
Yes. Acupuncture has been found to treat a wide variety of conditions and has helped millions of people regain and maintain their health.
Does Acupuncture hurt?
For the majority of people, acupuncture is a pain-free process, though some people feel the needles as they go in, and some people feel nothing. Acupuncture needles are solid, not hollow like hypodermic needles, and are hair thin, very flexible, and do not draw blood. Most people find acupuncture to be relaxing and rejuvenating.
Is Acupuncture safe?
Acupuncture is a field that requires extensive training and licensure. My training in acupuncture includes a 4 year master’s degree program, plus 3 NCCAOM board exams to become lincensed.
Only needles that are pre-sterilized, prepackaged, and disposable are utilized. Each needle is used once and then deposited in a biohazard container, which ensures safe disposal.
How many treatments will I need to achieve results?
This will depend on each person’s unique set of conditions and state of vitality. Generally speaking, more acute conditions will take 4-6 treatments to restore balance and resolve symptoms. Chronic conditions take longer, estimated at 10-12 treatments. Speed of healing can also depend on lifestyle changes made by the patient. Acute issues are better resolved through treatment 2-3 times per week and chronic issues are addressed with treatment once per week. Most people opt to receive acupuncture once per month after resolution of issues for maintence and prevention. I will work with your budget and schedule to find a treament plan that work for you.
